Sermon: Sunday 22nd Oct. 2017
Theme: True Obedience.
Text: Col.3:22-25.
The matter of True Obedience was a challenge to the Colossian Church. In our time, it's the ordeal of most institutions (firms, families, Church etc).
Paul exhorts us in Col.3:22-25 to eschew all manner of pretence & hypocrisy.
In our O.T. Reading, Job.1:1-19. God himself testified that Job was a perfect & upright, despite his great wealth & riches, he remained obedient to God. Though Satan tested him, he was found worthy. Whereas the rich young man in Mk.10:17-22 found it difficult to obey Christ's instruction.
Just as Paul advised his son Timothy in our N.T. Reading 2Tim.2:1-19, we are enjoined as believers not to get ourselves entangled with the affairs of this world & be truly obedient to our master & Saviour Jesus Christ in all ramifications.
Therefore, people of God, let us be truly obedient to our LORD JESUS CHRIST despite our positions, high or low & wealth, rich or poor.
Remain blessed & have an awesome week ahead.
